Arabs enjoy fruits of peace while still murdering Jews

'Former' is a temporary tag in the following title:

West Bank cinema reopens in former terrorist hub
The reopening of cinema in Jenin allows the once-violent West Bank town to show new face to the world.

Children crowded the ticket window as President Salam Fayyad climbed stairs covered in red carpet and scouts rapped out a snare-drum beat to inaugurate Cinema Jenin, reopened last month after more than 20 years in this northern West Bank city.

The renovation is the brainchild of German filmmaker Marcus Vetter and Jenin resident Ismael Khatib, whose son Ahmed, 12, was killed by Israeli soldiers in 2005. Mr. Vetter documented Mr. Khatib’s decision to donate Ahmed’s organs to six Israelis in the film “Heart of Jenin,” then renovated a cinema to provide a local venue to show it.

“Cinema Jenin is a safe place for Ahmed’s friends to learn and have fun,” Khatib said.

German and Palestinian volunteers spent two years painting the walls purple, reupholstering the 355 old chairs, and landscaping outside the 700-seat theater. The cinema’s three-day opening film festival, attended by the director of Tel Aviv’s Cinematheque, marks Jenin’s transformation from a notorious terrorism hometown to a city of cultural institutions including music and acting schools.

Interesting how 'non violent' these Arabs are - as Fatah members celebrate murder of Jews: "Moderate" Arabs praise murders, proud that they are from the West Bank

Meanwhile, the PA continues with its doublespeak condemnation:
In a statement issued by his office, Prime Minister Salam Fayyad condemned the attack, which was claimed by the armed wing of the Hamas Islamist movement which governs the Gaza Strip.

"We condemn this operation, which goes against Palestinian interests," Fayyad said.

Not condemning the murder, but condemning the negative effect on 'Palestinain interests'. These people have no human moral values. Blood Thirsty Animals. Vampires - that's what they are.

Of course, we are assured we are not seeing the end of this:
Hamas vows more attacks to come, as PA condemns West Bank shooting
Hamas issued a statement on Tuesday claiming responsibility for the shooting attack in the West Bank that left four Israeli civilians dead.

The statement from the armed wing of Hamas, a group that opposes any dialogue with Israel, said the "Qassam Brigades announces its full responsibility for the heroic operation in Hebron."

"Hamas praises the attack and regards it as a natural response to the crimes of the occupation," said Sami Abu-Zuhri, a Hamas spokesman in Gaza, adding that the attack was proof "of a failure of security coordination" between Israel and the Palestinians.

Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip, opposes the peace talks starting in Washington on Wednesday and is not taking part.

Hamas' military wing said it would carry out more operations after claiming responsibility for the shooting.

"This attack is a chain in a series of attacks, some have been executed, and others will follow," Abu Ubaida, spokesman for the group, told Reuters.

You know what Obama? Israeli civilians are better off without the 'peace' attempts - which only lead to further murder. Security can be achieved by other means, and those who continue wishing for murder aught to bare the consequences of their actions.

Arabs gift to peace process - Terror: 4 Israelis Murdered

Predictable - disgusting - but somehow so well accepted by the political powers willing to gamble with Israeli civilian lives.

Four Israelis killed in shooting attack near Hebron
The attack occurred around 7:30 P.M. when gunmen opened fire on the victims' car on Route 60 in the West Bank.

Four Israelis were killed on Tuesday night when gunmen opened fire on their car at the entrance to Kiryat Arba, near Hebron, in the West Bank.

Israelis will sign peace treaties, freeze construction, forfeit land - to always be answered the same way by the blood thirsty vampires who dwell on the adjacent hill.

Children terror victims celebrate Bar-Bat Mitzvahs with Israeli president

Victims, the world does not care to recognize.

Peres Celebrates Bar-Bat Mitzvahs with Terror Victims
President Shimon Peres celebrated Bar and Bat Mitzvahs Monday with 70 victims of terror who he said symbolize hope for the Jewish people. The youth were wounded in terrorist attacks or lost relatives who were killed in suicide bombings and other attacks.

The President spoke personally to Gabriel Simla, who was seriously wounded in the Netanya Park Hotel massacre on Passover in 2002.

“You have suffered seven levels of hell but stood up and spoke tonight in a clear voice that expressed sorrow and hope. No one knows this better than you.”

President Peres said that the young man is “a symbol of what terror victims have suffered” and that the Bar and Bat Mitzvah celebrations “symbolize what the People of Israel feel towards you. This event is intended as a symbol for all the people of Israel, who celebrate with you.

“I want to congratulate you on your strength and for being who you are. It is a privilege to speak to you in the name of the People of Israel because all of the people share your sorrow and your strength, and you bring hope for a better future.

Speaking to all of the youth, the president added, “I see you as bringing wisdom from your inner quiet that represents you and your abilities to carry your suffering without losing hope. Turn the suffering that you experienced into strength and achievements in memory of those who have fallen. Never give up.

“All of the people of Israel want peace and do not hate anyone. We do not commit terrorist attacks, and we try to act responsibly with restraint and patience, and I hope we soon will see peace..”

Can the coming implosion of direct peace talks hurt Obama's poll numbers even more?

I - for one - doubt it. I don't think Americans care that much if peace is established in the middle east, and no one I hear or read is mentioning any optimism, to the contrary. Apparently some Arab analysts do believe so.

‘Direct Talks May ‘Make or Break’ Obama

...

“Obama realizes that he is unable to do anything and that his invitation for direct talks will turn out to be nothing more than a public relations campaign,' Ghazi Rababaa, political science professor at the University of Jordan, told the German Press Agency DPA. "The U.S. president's real objective behind calling direct talks at this juncture is to improve his Democratic Party's chances in the coming congressional elections and to prop up his retreating popularity.”

With the American economy facing a “double dip” recession and with unemployment showing no signs of receding, foreign policy is President Obama’s only limb that has not fallen. He has triumphantly announced that he has withdrawn troops from Iraq, but 50,000 Americans remain to help Iraqi soldiers fight terror that has not abated while the Baghdad government is in paralysis.

“The risk for Obama comes in defining expectations on pursuits that can fall apart at any time, often over events outside his control,” an Associated Press analysis stated Monday.

Recreating a conversation

Over the weekend we had an outdoor dinner at a neighbor’s back yard. I started conversing with the visiting Grandpa, here’s what I can recall (my language skill is 3 steps below his – so obviously I’m paraphrasing his statements):

(after some small-talk I already forgot)

Him: We live in Connecticut and Florida, we travel between.

Me: Have you always lived in Connecticut?

Him: I was born there, lived there all my life.

(short silence)

Me: You know, I’m not sure how to put it – but from what I heard, isn’t Connecticut – aren’t most people who live there – many rich people?

Him: Hmm... times are hard. We used to have it very good for so long, but things are really hard now. It has really changed.

(short conversation about my work, how often do I travel, and eventually leading to me stating that the Federal agencies are very good customers of ours. No slowdown in our business)

Him: Well, they’re spending a lot – but there’s no where from. Nothing left. Things are about to change. It’s just so horrible that there isn’t any real leader out there. All those politicians are there to keep their jobs. How did this country elect this man? He has no experience, no knowledge.

Me: I think he’s a Marxist.

(the man I was talking to was VERY MUCH NOT JEWISH)
Him: And the way he treated Benjamin Netanyahu?! It’s outrageous! Our only ally in that region. They all hate us there! Do you know that? They’re horrible. How did we put him? What was the alternative?!

Me (astonished): Hmm… I think the media tricked the nation. The nation was sold on him, people just didn’t know.

Him: You have an accent. Where are you from?

Me: Israel.

Him: Oh! I visited there, probably before you were born. It was 1956. I was a navy pilot stationed in Turkey and we visited. A major in the Israeli Air force invited me to visit the kibbutz. It was so different back then. Very vibrant. They did miracles over there. Amazing. Took that dried up land and grew it so well. Miracles.

Me (smiling): Yes, so different since then though. Very urban now, high rise skyline. Changed a lot.

Him (smiling): Like an American major city – isn’t it?

(short silence, or small talk I don’t recall)

Him: I don’t understand how come Jewish Americans still support him by these numbers. People I work with, people I know at home. The way he treated Netanyahu. Outrageous.

Me: I think, there are several reasons. First – many Jewish Americans - their grand -parents were communists…

Him: I’m amazed you’d say that. Sure some major American communists were Jewish but… they don’t even think of themselves as communists..

Me: Well – I’m saying their ancestors were, I mean – read Horowitz, you heard of him? (he nods) They lived in communes in New York. Many of them were communists – but today’s American Jews – they just accept these ideals.

Him: Liberalism. They believe in these things…

Me: Right, liberalism – it’s source are communists ideas – but they don’t even realize that. Second – they are very secular – some have no relations to Jews except a distant granddad. But when they are polled they answer as Jews. Third – even if what I just said is completely false and represents no one – there are many party people. They are owned by the Democrats.

Him: Yes – they support him just because he’s a Democrat. Party people.

Me: Another thing, many of them have been taught to believe that anything remotely right wing/conservative is inherently evil. The enemy. They’d never consider anything but their Democrat nominee.

(wife walks in – retelling kibbutz story)

Wife: Oh - Israel has changed a lot since then hasn’t it? Very ‘European’-ized.

Him: Hmm… Europe. They’re gone. They completely lost their way. Horrible. Look at France – they’re gone.

Me: (silent – but observing him for a clarification – obviously he had more to say…)

Him: With their 40% Muslim population. They’re gone.

Me & Wife: We think it’s 20%...

Him: It’s like they’ve taken over.

Wife: Well – it’s like Dearborn here – a small percentage of the population but such an impact.

Him: We have a town in Connecticut. About 100,000 people. Bush brought in some refugees from Albania – only about 8000. It immediately made a huge difference. They’ve build a huge mosque. You see women wrapped in all these covers.

(somehow, conversation changes direction again, we talk about Florida/Connecticut living arrangement, and I recall him saying something about the Jewish people he works with)

Me: So you still work?

Him: They tell us we should retire at 70, but as long as I can help.

Me: What do you do?

Him: I’m an appellate court judge. I help them there, I don’t sit at bench anymore.

(conversation wonders again, we discuss the horrors of Saudi Arabia and the culture there)

Me: Well – we know that there’s a problem with Muslims in the western countries. But what can these countries do? Just like Europe – we are open to immigration, the freedom of religion is in the constitution, what can western nations do to defend from what the Muslims bring?

Him: Just like we have limits on freedom of speech. There’s reason and there are limits. You can’t shout fire in a crowded theater. There’s a lot that can be done – but with all these bleeding heart liberals and their ACLU – they are ruining the nation. We can stop it – it needs to stop – I’m afraid we lost our direction, we’ll end up like France. There’s no real leadership these days. Statesmem. Men of honor to save America.

***

After further conversation – the man and his wife had to leave, I turned to my wife and said: WOW! Appellate court judge in Connecticut, hates ACLU, hates Obama, against the Muslim invasion! WOW! We were all smiles, my other neighbor joined in – and when we told him of that conversation he was as beaming as we were.

Smiles all around.

***

Now that’s quite a picnic conversation to have – won’t you say? Every moment of conversation revealed so much!

Influential Rabbi: May God Perish the Evil Ones Who Hate Israel, US State Department: We Condemn

Not a peep regarding all the hate coming from the Palestinian media and mosques. But a Rabbi? Condemn a Rabbi – for THIS?

Israel Matzav: State Department v. Rabbi Ovadiah

EoZ: What exactly did Ovadia Yosef say?

I’m not one to defend this Rabbi, I don’t like him or his party. It seems though that the state department is letting the loonies run the house. And the house is run by Clinton – with Obama’s guidance.

America's leading lefty website, Huffington Post - called out for extreme anti Israel bias

A must read at Power Line:
The Huffington Post -- attacking Israel for fun and profit

Even at its best, the Huffington Post is a leftist organ. And when it comes to covering Israel, the Huffington Post is not at its best.
The Huff Watch blog does a terrific job of calling out the Huffington Post for its extreme anti-Israel bias. As Huff Watch has shown, that bias manifests itself in:
* The incitement of hatred against Israel, by prominently posting inflammatory allegations* against the Jewish state, and particularly the IDF --- then failing to post, or burying new information that proves Israel's innocence
.
* Publication of user comments containing anti-Semitic hate, libels and conspiracy theories, often submitted in direct response to this incitement --- even though the Huffington Post claims it prohibits such comments and that it won't publish them
* Whitewashing and ignoring the savage acts of, and statements by, militant Islamists
* Selecting and cropping pictures of Palestinians and Ahmadinejad that them in the most favorable light, while doing the exact opposite to Netanyahu, the Israel Defense Force, and other Jews
The most recent manifestation of the Huffington Post's bias involves the assassination of Lt. Col. Dov Harari, a highly-regarded veteran of the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) and father of four, who was ambushed and murdered by the Lebanon Armed Forces, with suspected involvement by Hezbollah. Harari's death was originally reported to be the result of an IDF incursion into Lebanese territory, to trim a tree, which resulted in a cross-border firefight. But soon it was discovered that both Harari and the tree were on Israel's side of the border, and that the IDF had scheduled this activity well in advance with U.N. and Lebanese authorities.
An LAF general later openly admitted that he gave the sniper the order to fire. And Lebanon's prime minister issued a statement, standing by his general, and threatening more violence against Israel.
The Huffington Post was quick, of course, to publish the original, false version of the story, which placed Lt. Col. Harari on the Lebanese side of the border...

Israel will sure lose all support from the American left, given that the anti-semites have taken over the main sources of information which moderate to far lefties consume.

Justice Delayed, Now Denied: Obama Won't Prosecute USS Cole Bomber

But go ahead looking for those Jewish Terrorists...

Gateway Pundit: Obama Administration Halts Prosecution of Suspected USS Cole Bomber
GOOD GRIEF! Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri is the alleged mastermind behind the USS Cole bombing and other terrorist attacks. He headed al-Qaeda operations in the Persian Gulf and the Gulf states prior to his capture in November 2002. The Obama Administration dropped charges in February 2009 on al-Nashiri pending the administration’s review of all Gitmo detentions.

The Washington Post reported:

The Obama administration has shelved the planned prosecution of Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri, the alleged coordinator of the Oct. 2000 suicide attack on the USS Cole in Yemen, according to a court filing.

...

“It’s politics at this point,” said one military official who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss policy. He said he thinks the administration does not want to proceed against a high-value detainee without some prospect of civilian trials for other major figures at Guantanamo Bay.

Ace adds:
Obama's campaign to make the Democratic brand as toxic as possible before November rolls on

Israelis should note that Obama is about to do to the peace process what he did to the economy, the deficit, the DNC brand... Dangerously incompetent.

Lebanon Skirmish or War Update: Israel Was Ready To Obliterate Lebanese Army in 4 Hours

CIA doc on wikileaks: US exports 'Jewish Terrorists'

Why am I not surprised? With people like Brennen and Michael Scheuer at the CIA - it is no surprise they cannot find what's wrong with Islam yet label American Jews as terrorists.

CIA warns of violent American Jews
Wikileaked document calls the US an "exporter of terrorism."

A CIA document released by Web site Wikileaks on Wednesay expresses concern that the US had become an "exporter of terrorism," specifically mentioning American Jews in Israel.

The classified report, titled "What if Foreigners See the United States as an Exporter of Terrorism?" was produced in February 2010 by the CIA's Red Cell, a think tank set up in the wake of the September 11 2001 attacks on New York's World Trade Center. It mentions incidents in which Americans joined terrorist groups such as the Taliban and the Irish Republican Army, and committed acts such as the 2008 Mumbai bombing.

One of the four groups mentioned by the CIA is American Jews in Israel.

"Some American Jews have supported and even engaged in violent acts against perceived enemies of Israel," the leaked report reads. "In 1994, Baruch Goldstein, an American Jewish doctor from New York, emigrated to Israel, joined the extremist group Kach, and killed 29 Palestinians during their prayers in the mosque at the Tomb of the Patriarchs in Hebron"

The CIA analysis explains that Goldstein's attack "helped to trigger a wave of bus bombings by HAMAS in early 1995."

The report considers international terrorist organizations targeting and recruiting Americans. It says:

"Less attention has been paid to homegrown terrorism, not exclusively Muslim terrorists, exported overseas to target non-US persons. This report examines the implications of what it would mean for the US to be seen increasingly as an incubator and 'exporter of terrorism.'"

The analysis posits that "American freedoms facilitate terrorist recruitment and operations," and that "popular websites such as Youtube, Facebook, Myspace, Twitter and various blogs enable radical clerics and terrorist recruiters to bypass America's physical borders and influence US citizens."

Law Suit: IRS Discriminates against groups not in line with Obama's view of Israel

Interesting to see how this turns out?

IRS Sued for Discrimination of Groups that Don't Toe BHO Line
Z Street, a pro-Israel non-profit corporation, filed a lawsuit in federal court Wednesday charging that the IRS violated the organization’s First Amendment rights. The suit was filed after Z Street was told by an IRS official that its application for tax-exempt status has been delayed because an IRS policy requires consideration of whether a group’s views on Israel differ from those of the current Administration.

“Not only is it patently un-American but it is also a clear violation of the First Amendment for a government agency to penalize an organization because of its political position on Israel or anything else,” said Z Street president Lori Lowenthal Marcus, a former First Amendment lawyer. “This situation is the same as if the government denied a driver’s license to people because they were Republicans or Democrats. It goes against everything for which our country stands.”

Z Street filed for tax-exempt status in January of this year and, despite having met all of the requirements for grant of this status, the application has been stalled. An IRS agent told Z Street’s lawyers that the application was delayed because of a Special Israel Policy that requires more intense scrutiny of organizations which have to do with Israel, in part to determine whether they espouse positions on Israel contrary to those of the current Administration.

LA-Times hails the de-facto creation of a Trojan horse Palestinian state

Don't expect much of an opinion when things blow up again. It will always be Israel's fault, disregarding the ongoing hate propaganda in the PA - the hostility - the undercurrents of Jihadism - the 2% approval of Salim Fiad.

A state of Palestine in the making
The amazing changes occurring in the West Bank under Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Salam Fayyad show what a state of Palestine could look like. His leadership, and vision, should be embraced by all.

The short drive from Jerusalem to Ramallah begins as you'd expect. The pristine setting of the old-new holy city slowly morphs into a more disordered vista on the outskirts of town — small Arab villages, humbly built of stone, displaying signs of economic decay. The streets are nearly empty.

Startlingly soon, the Israeli military checkpoint appears at a break in the expanse of the cement separation barrier. Immediately upon crossing, the most frequently photographed stretch of the barrier comes into sight, a lengthy and colorful mural that includes massive painted images of the late Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat as a young man and of Marwan Barghouti, who's in an Israeli prison for his role in the second intifada.

Nothing I've seen along the 14-kilometer trip, however, prepares me for what I will find in Ramallah, a place much of the world still imagines as a refugee camp: Streets teeming with auto and pedestrian traffic. Men and women moving quickly and purposefully. Privately owned businesses filled with customers. Beautiful new buildings of stone and glass. Numerous new construction starts. Government offices patrolled by polite, well-trained security personnel. A general atmosphere of busyness and safety.

I think: "It looks an awful lot like Palestine to me."
Introducing the LA Times Star Walk app for iPhone. Tour the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame with the Los Angeles Times archives, history and information. Available in the App Store.

Ramallah exhibits everything we all have hoped to see after the establishment of a Palestinian state alongside Israel — only it's all happening beforehand.

...

Will Arabs ever accept a peaceful state alongside Israel? If you take them at their word - it is only a stage - an unwelcome stage as they see it - where they are making a compromise in accepting only part of the land of Israel. All in a goal of taking over all of the land and killing all the Jews. Don't believe me? Listen to Hamas and Fatah leaders when they speak in Arabic. Look at their media and educational materials.

Has Obama abandoned Israel? an ad

I'm posting this ad for free, my opinion below...

Hmm... as I understand Obama, his roots, his pals - he cannot be a friend to Israel. His speech at Cairo showed him to be ignorant on history, a person who has bought into the propaganda the left has been feeding him all these years. Over the last 2 years - he did his best to humiliate Israel's PM, he put his focus on stopping further construction in Jerusalem, and then... a big photo-op with Netanyahu both claiming there is no crisis.

The last twist came last week with Russia turning on the power switch in Iran's nuclear power plant - officially supplying the Iranians with the materials needed for a plutonium bomb, while Obama kept silent and his spokespeople mumbling something about 'no danger for at least 12 months' - so why are you worried?

That being said - I see Obama right now in a transformation period. I don't know him to be hostile to Israel anymore. It could very well be that being in office for 19 months and getting his briefing from intelligence sources rather than media matters and Huffington post might be changing his mind. His catastrophically legislation and economic policies are sure to induce his ulcer as well.

Transformation is happening before our eyes - we should continue observing critically. Is it all a show? Will he re-emerge the same radical the day after mid term elections?

Hamas shuts down water park - official excuse: 'no proper permit'

Because they have such a decent regulatory system - I mean, all the OTHER water parks must have permits. I'm sure they haven't filed form 10763z-qt05 and a bunch of fictional legal papers the Gaza constitution requires...

From EoZ:
Hamas ordered the "Crazy Water," water park in Gaza closed due to men and women mixing at parties held in the park, Israel Radio reported on Sunday.

A spokesperson for the Hamas government claimed that the park was actually closed for only three days, because it did not have a proper permit. "Men and women are mixed throughout Gaza," the spokesperson said. "The closing is just a warning."

Ah - the horrors the Gazans must endure due to Israel:

Recap

While I suffered through a week of hives and dizziness from really messed up medication, I didn't blog a word about the following news bits:

* US strong arms PA and Israel to negotiate peace directly under Obama's supervision and promise a deal in a year. Expect everything to blow up - big time. OK - suppose they reach a deal - what about Gaza? What about a month an hour after further Israel withdrawal in Jerusalem and West bank? Can Israelis stand by and watch Hamas/Iranian troops storm the wailing wall/kotel?

* Iran started manufacturing nuclear material for a plutonium bomb in their Russian supported power plant. Israel and the USA did nothing to stop it. Guaranteed long term human catastrophe to follow.

* Iran boasting more reversed engineered UAV-s and missiles. Threatening to blow up the world. USA and UK say it's not a big deal.

* Congress report says that all of the technology the USA achieved by the end of the 90-s was stolen and reversed engineered and is now manufactured by China and equips the worst regimes in the world. Analysts connect the data to suspicious deals between the Clinton administration to Chinese individuals. I'll add that the Clinton admin knowingly delivered missile technology in the 90-s to "save money on satellite placements".

* Israel is abuzz about Generals squabbling and news outlets hyping the situation.

So I guess it was pretty much a messed up week for the world...

Lebanon to Obama: Shove it

Well, here's the title on Ynet's main page - which differs from the article once clicked: "Lebanon tells US to shove it"

Reality bursts in the face for those who hoped that funding and supporting Lebanon's infrastructures by the west would not be just subsidizing Hezbollah.

Lebanon: US can keep aid, give it to Israel
Spiteful response: Lebanon's defense minister slams American decision to halt military aid to Beirut following deadly border skirmish with Israel; 'Let them keep their money or give it to Israel,' he says

Lebanon's defense minister on Wednesday lashed out at a US decision to halt aid to his country's army in the wake of a deadly border clash with Israel, protesting that aid was being made conditional.

"Whoever sets as a condition that the aid should not be used to protect Lebanon's land, people and borders from the (Israeli) enemy can keep their money," Defense Minister Elias Murr told a news conference. "Let them keep their money or give it to Israel. We will confront (Israel) with the capabilities we own."

...

Conditions like: Don't let terror group take control over the help we give you, don't start wars over a tree on the other side of the border...

Gaza residents protest electricty cuts, Hamas beats residents with rifle butts

But go ahead and blame Israel for all the trouble the Arabs in Gaza endure.

Hamas cracks down on Gaza Strip power cuts protest
Hamas police broke up Tuesday a protest over electricity cuts in the Gaza Strip using clubs and rifle butts, wounding numerous people, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) said in a statement.

"We condemn the Hamas police crackdown on the protest rally organized by us, which led to the wounding of many of our leaders and members," the PFLP said.

(staged propaganda photos delivered by MSM when Hamas wanted to blame Israel for electricity problems)

Important comments from Backspin blog:
6 Reasons You Won't See Any Photos of an Anti-Hamas Electricity Rally
AFP reports that Hamas police violently broke up a protest against electricity cuts. Here are six reasons you won't see any wire photos of this:

1. Hamas only allows journalists to cover anti-Israel vigils.

2. Identifying photo credits would endanger the photographer, and threaten access for his or her news agency.

3. Free lance photographers who lack the support of a news agency aren't going to place their careers and freedom at risk.

4. Any photographer tipped off ahead of time would risk being associated with the PFLP, which organized the rally.

5. Using stock photos of anti-Israel electricity protests is closer to Big Media's groupthink that everything's Israel's fault anyway.

6. Burying the coverage obviates the need for images anyway.

It's worth mentioning too, that not only will you be unlikely to read about this story in your local paper - or see photos, but you are very likely to not see the real horror of how hard life in Gaza is for some:

Shh.... don't tell Erdogan and Cameron about what really happens in Gaza - for them it's a prison setup by Da-Joooooos.

Netanyahu lets Israel into a UN trap, argues with UN chief as rules of entrapping Israel trap him

I hate this story - I can only assume there was huge arm bending by Obama to push Israel into this 'let's find evidence to our predetermined conclusion' committee.

Nothing good will come out of this... (image from here)
UN doesn't rule out questioning troops
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon convened a panel investigating the IDF raid on a Gaza-bound flotilla Tuesday for the first time since the members were appointed.

UN spokesman Martin Nesirky did not rule out that the panel might seek to talk to IDF soldiers or officials from either side to seek information or clarification, though Israel has said it would not cooperate with any probe againstits soldiers.

Ban met former prime minister of New Zealand, Geoffrey Palmer, outgoing Colombian President Alvaro Uribe, Israeli representative Joseph Ciechanover, and Turkish delegate Özdem Sanberk at the UN Headquarters in New York.

In a statement to the press, Ban said the panel was "not designed to determine individual criminal responsibility, but to examine and identify the facts, circumstances and the context of the incident, as well as to recommend ways of avoiding future incidents".

On Tuesday evening the four panel members are set to hold their first work meeting. Ban stressed that as part of their task, they should "seek the fullest cooperation of the national authorities".

On Monday Ban denied having made any agreement with Israel stipulating that the panel would refrain from questioning military commanders.

Israel responded firmly to the secretary-general's denial, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reiterating that "Israel would not participate in any panel which wants to question IDF soldiers."

FAIL: Hezbollah tries deflecting blame for Harriri's murder on da jooooos

After they have already committed a revolution and stormed the streets of Beirut with their guns...

After accused every current and past Lebanese army official of espionage - and subsequently have taken over many units - to the point where a USA funded army is under Iranian commanders control...

After boasting he himself ordered to utilize Lebanese army to murder Israeli commander in response to cutting a tree...

Hezbollah chief ass-hole, Nasrallah - presents 'proof' that the Israelis - and not Hezbollah have killed Harriri. That's despite irrefutable evidence that Hezbollah agents took part in the assassination. His proof? A video of someone he claims to be an Israeli spy - telling Harrir that Hezbollah is trying to kill him. Also presented, incoherent and fuzzy video imagery without time-stamps he claims are Israeli UAV grabbed while Harriri was murdered.

In the land of cedar - the Iranian occupied Lebanon - every lie will go uncontested as Lebanon has long since surrendered to the Shiite Persians.

Time for America to stop funding the Lebanese army. It seems some in congress finally took some actions, hopefully not just temporarily.

Nasrallah presents 'proof ' Israel implicated in Hariri plot
Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah attempted to avert blame for the murder of Rafik Hariri Monday to Israel, saying he had "evidence" that the state had tried to convince the Lebanese prime minister Hezbollah was trying to hurt him.

In an especially vehement televised speech, Nasrallah presented footage of Ahmed Nasrallah, whom he claimed is of no relation to himself, saying he had served as a spy for Israel.

The second Nasrallah, who was arrested by Hezbollah, was shown telling the camera that he had informed Hariri the group intended to carry out an attack against him and his family using a car bomb, after numerous failed attempts on his life.

"I promised I would convene a press conference to open up new horizons and help in accusing Israel of the assassination of Rafik al-Hariri, and that is what I am doing," Nasrallah said in the beginning of his speech.

"Since 1993 Israel has been trying, using its agents, to convince al-Hariri that Hezbollah was attempting to assassinate him."

Nasrallah claimed that Israel immediately blamed his organization for the murder. "Israel has the ability to carry out operations of this kind and all of its operations in and outside of Lebanon are evidence of this," he said.

"We recall many cases in which agents entered through the beaches and various ports. Israel had the motive and the interest. It is hostile to the entire resistance movement, especially Hezbollah, as well as Syria."

The Hezbollah chief explained that Israel "was trying to make Syria leave Lebanon and this was the backdrop for the Hariri murder".

"This blood was used to remove Syria from Lebanon and to harm the resistance. This is the motive and the interest," he added.

Must Read! While peace charade continues, Abbas and Arab summit talk war

From MEMRI.ORG:

Major points Abbas says:
  • The Delegates at the Sirte Summit Counted Tanks and Planes
  • Hamas Capitulates to Iran; The PA Does Not Capitulate to U.S. (yet they gladly accept money and arms from US and EU)
  • Will Not Call Israel a Jewish State

Such a moderate... such benevolent intentions.

Why is Israel's leading newspaper participating in smearing Glenn Beck?

Because they are spineless plagiarizers of Huffington Post content? Because they align themselves with USA's progressives? Because lack of understanding of US politics by Israeli editors allows such tripe to slip in.

YNet: Jews, Fox host clash over Nazi remarks
Popular Fox News host irks Jewish leaders with Holocaust references, claims Jewish group leader holds Nazi-style worldview

Jewish leaders in the US filed a complaint with Fox News over popular host Glenn Beck's harsh rhetoric, which includes colorful references to the Nazi era.

Beck, who maintains pro-Israel views, has slammed social justice organization and claimed they are dangerously reminiscent of communism, socialism, and fascism. He has been a vocal critic of president Obama, often invoking Nazi images to highlight his views.

The popular TV personality has targeted Jewish groups, among other things accusing Jewish Funds for Justice President and CEO Simon Greer of holding a Nazi-like worldview.

Later, responding to a harsh Washington post op-ed against him by Greer, Beck slammed Greer's attitude, arguing that "This leads to death camps."

"A Jew, of all people, should know that. This is exactly the kind of talk that led to the death camps in Germany — put humankind and the common good first," he said.

Jewish leaders, believing Beck went too far, filed a complaint with Fox News' chief executive. The letter led to a meeting with top network executives in an effort to calm the tensions. Meanwhile, Beck sent Greer a letter where he did not offer an apology, but said he took the concerns expressed by about him very seriously.

Yedieot Aharonot/YNet - They read it on Huffington Post and report it as original content. At least credit your sources. YNet isn't a blog, it's not some guy goofing off his office job while linking all over the place - it's a news paper with actual reporters. Itzhak Ben Horin collects a paycheck in the US from YNet for the great job of cut and paste from huffington post. So lame.

Israel: Just and Grieving

The UN and Lebanon have confirmed Isreal's account of yesterday's events. When I read through the details of the incident (being an Israeli) - I get very angry.

The New York Times reports: U.N. Supports Israeli Account of Border Clash

(How close range was this attack?!)

Haaretz: Lebanon: We fired first at IDF unit near Israel border
YNet: Funeral of slain commander; Daughter eulogizes - You won't get to see me in uniforms (Hebrew)

Detailed account of the ambush found here: Complete, detailed narrative of Lebanese border incident (EoZ blog)

Were UNIFIL soldiers standing idle while Lebanese army setup snipers?

I'm not jumping to conclusion, it is not necessarily the exact location where bullets were fired from. But from the following photo - it seems UNIFIL soldiers are standing alongside Lebanese army as they setup a shooting position.

Israel Radio: Sgan Aluf killed by Lebanese

That's a two stars officer. (in IDF referred to as 'fallafel' not stars)

Report confirmed: IDF officer killed on Lebanese border today
Israel Radio reports (6:00 pm) that Northern sector commander Gadi Eizencott has partially confirmed my report here. Eizencott said that two senior officers were seriously wounded. He did not provide any more details.

Israel Radio now reports (a few minutes later in the same broadcast) that a division commander with the rank of (Res.) Sgan Aluf (Major?) Dov Harari was killed today in Lebanon and another commander was seriously wounded and is in Rambam Hospital in Haifa.

Eizencott also said that the IDF had stopped firing to allow the LAF to retrieve its wounded, and the LAF opened sniper fire half an hour later on a tank.

Skirmish?

Update, here's ynet report: Senior IDF commander killed in border skirmish
Cleared for publication: IDF Lieutenant Colonel Dov Harari killed in border skirmish with Lebanese army Tuesday; another commander seriously wounded. Troops stepped into planned ambush, army says

Skirmish or War? IDF says incident over, no need to enter shelters

I worded previous post 'war erupts' - what did I base this on?

* There were reports of Katyusha rockets and people going into shelters. Right now reports are saying no rockets hit - only loud explosion sounds.
* News-wire reported IDF using artillery and choppers against Lebanese army sources.
* The fact that it was Lebanese army involved, and not simply terrorists - hinted me to a potentially larger event.

As things stand right now, IDF northern commander said in his statement the event is over. UNIFIL is saying to work towards restoring cease fire. The difference between a full scale war and single event relies on actions taken by parties involved. It seems at this point, no further exchange of fire is taking place.

IDF: It was a planned ambush, IDF commanders hurt

Still a bit cloudy, but it seems that Hezbollah was involved, which is why they were first to report that they have snipered a senior Israeli commander.

IDF: 2 commanders hurt in border skirmish
Two IDF commanders were hurt in the exchanges of fire with Lebanese forces on Tuesday, said GOC of the Northern Command, Maj. Gen.

Fighting words: 'stand up to Israel's violation of U.N. Resolution 1701 -- whatever the cost'

Lebanese President Michel Suleiman - one might guess that he really wants to observe Israel's strength in war. Some have guessed that it was Hezbollah operatives in disguise who have wanted to make up a provocation to still be relevant.

Perhaps it's time to stop making false assumptions regarding what the motives of Lebanese are, and who had done what. Israel's leaders have said they wish to calm things down and return to cease fire. In light of this, I think it's noteworthy to examine Suleiman statement again:

Lebanese President Michel Suleiman called on the country to "stand up to Israel's violation of U.N. Resolution 1701 -- whatever the cost."
(source)

Whatever the cost? And when the cost is realized - they'll surely demonize Israel.

Suleiman to the right. Obama admin is very comfortable with this guy.

War Erupts Between Israel and Lebanon

From the sources I've scoured, I gather the following:
  • IDF in coordination with the UN and Lebanese army were working within Israeli territory to fix security cameras
  • Overconfident due to this coordinated effort, the soldiers did not mind the watchful eye of Lebanese soldiers at close range
  • Lebanese forces opened fire, Israel says a few soldiers were wounded (recent wording on Israeli news site suggest possible casualties)
  • Israelies retaliated, killing 3 soldiers and a 'news reporter'
  • Lebanese president came out in statements supporting further escalation
  • Rockets were fired again at northern Israeli towns
  • Lebanese villagers are packing their bags and fleeing
  • Israeli officials stated they do not wish to continue escalation, while certain operations within Lebanon are in action

Here's AFP's current summary:
Lebanese troops killed, Israelis wounded in clashes
Lebanese and Israeli troops exchanged fire Tuesday along their tense border in a fierce skirmish which left three Lebanese soldiers and a journalist dead, army and security officials said.
Lebanon's Hezbollah TV, Al-Manar, said a senior Israeli officer had been killed but there was no immediate confirmation from the Israeli military or the Lebanese army.
A Lebanese security official said at least one Israeli soldier was seriously wounded in the clashes which were apparently sparked when Israeli soldiers attempted to uproot a tree on the Lebanese side of the fenced border.

Interesting how AFP is first reporting what the Hezbollah mouth piece is saying... before official statements from the IDF and Lebanon. If you follow the link you'd find what everyone else is claiming.

Structure demolished by Hamas rocket over weekend was Children's rehab center, nearly 400 rockets since 'Cast Lead' op

UN and Goldstone to respond in 3, 2, 1... never. But they still do act decisively against Israel regarding the 'flotilla of terror'.

With a H/T to Atlas Shrugs:

VIDEO FOOTAGE Hamas Rocket Attack on Sderot Child Rehab Center
The upgraded Kassam rocket on Sderot Saturday night scored a direct hit on the ceiling of a children's hydrotherapy rehabilitation center in the heart of Sderot's Sapir College, bringing to nearly 400 the number aerial attacks launched from Gaza since the ceasefire which halted Israel's Cast Lead counter-terror campaign in Gaza in January 2009.

The Saturday night Kassam attack followed the explosion of a Iranian Grad missile that hit the city of Ashkelon Friday morning.

Hamas-controlled Gaza has targeted Ashkelon, with a population of 125,000 Israelis, since March 2008.The child hydrotherapy rehabilitation center at Sderot's Sapir College provides therapy and workshops for special-needs children who live in the Western Negev and is used by children from the entire country.

The facility was totally decimated. Our crew arrived at the destroyed Children's Center hours after the attack, and heard an IDF Home Front Command officer estimate the carnage from the upgraded KassamWhile the crew filmed, a child care worker arrived at the destroyed office and was overwhelmed with emotion as the sight of the devastation. She walked through the rubble that had been her office the day before and, looking through the mess, she picked up a photo of her two children that had been hanging on the wall the day before. The child care worker was in a state of shock.

On any other day, a catastrophe would have taken place, killing all the children at the center. During weekdays, the Center is packed with hundreds of children and therapists before it closes at 10 p.m.

This missile hit not far from where Sapir student Roni Yechiah was blown to bits on February 27, 2008.

In this present-day surreal situation, it does not matter that a catastrophe was prevented in our region, because as long there are no casualties, it doesn’t stay very Israel hamas attack long in the headlines and, in the eyes of the media and the public, the attack was of little importance, coming at the height of summer vacation, when the weather report on the expected high temperature in southern Israel takes precedence over the lethal missiles on southern Israel.

If, indeed, there were children at this rehabilitation center during the Kassam strike, the IDF would have no choice but to re-enter Gaza, and we would then witness the release of thousands of upgraded missiles which can reach Tel Aviv. Israeli intelligence confirms that that the Hamas regime has now assembled an arsenal of over 5,000 missiles with a range of 40 kilometers [25 miles].

How close are we to the next Gaza war? An inch and a half away. This time, Tel-Aviv will feel the heat too.

Hamas-hole killed over weekend was employee of UN

UN sponsors terrorism of Israeli civilians while falsely accusing Israel of every evil possible.

Slain Senior Hamas Terrorist was Employed by UN
Senior Hamas commander Issa al-Batran was killed Saturday in an Israeli airstrike that followed a Grad rocket attack on the city of Ashkelon. While several news outlets reported details of Batran's past, including previous attempts on his life, they failed to note a major component of Batran's personal life: his day job as a United Nations-employed schoolteacher.

Batran taught at a UN school in Al-Bureij. According to the Bethlehem-based Maan news agency Batran worked in the school at least until January 2009, and possibly beyond that time.

His job as a schoolteacher was mentioned by Maan and other Arab news outlets in 2009, when several members of the Batran family were killed in an airstrike during the counterterror operation Cast Lead. At that time, his senior position in Hamas was not mentioned.

The terror swamp will never be dried unless the UN and western funds stop flowing to feed it.
